Cold So Cold in Jerusalem

It January in Israel, and it is FREEZING cold. The good thing is that there is more rain, and as I have mentioned on my blog before we need rain here in Israel. We only get rain in the winter, which means that if we don't get enough during that time we are in for some difficult times during the summer. For the last two years there hasn't been enough rain, and this winter I had heard that we hadn't receiver enough. That is one of the reasons that the water rates have recently gone up. What this means for me is strictly controlling my water use.

One thing I can say is that when it does rain here in Israel it comes down in torrents. There has been news of flooding in the southern part of Israel in the Negev (Desert). These videos are from previous years, but you get the idea.

Back to the cold issue. I am sitting here right now typing this in my room and I am freezing. My famous heater has partially died on me, so at the moment what it is giving is just not enough. I may have to open it up and see what the deal is. One thing I can say is that I can't wait for the spring to come so that I can go out more. Okay, you can now disregard that last part about my heater not working. I opened it up and one of the switches is not working. So with a little bit of engineering it now works again.

So while it may be cold as the Antartic outside, the Chronicles will continue.

The video of the water crashing down in the desert is truly fantastic. Thanks!
